How to Join Yakuza

Complete guide to joining the Yakuza faction in Devil Hunter. Learn about exclusive contracts, requirements, and what changes when you leave Public Safety.

⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: Joining Yakuza is a permanent decision. Currently, there is NO way to leave Yakuza and return to Public Safety without a full character wipe. Choose carefully!

What is the Yakuza Faction?

The Yakuza is an alternative faction to Public Safety. Instead of working for the government, you join the criminal underworld and gain access to exclusive devil contracts and a hybrid form.

🎮 Playtest Note: The Yakuza faction is currently in playtest. It's not fully fleshed out yet, but it offers unique progression paths with exclusive contracts and perks.

Exclusive Yakuza Content

By joining Yakuza, you get access to three exclusive options that Public Safety members cannot obtain:

Katana Hybrid Form (Katana Man)

The Katana Hybrid form allows you to become just like Katana Man from the Chainsaw Man anime. This is one of the coolest hybrid transformations in the game.

⚠️ Important: Once you become Katana Hybrid, you cannot get any other devil contracts. Choose wisely!

🐍

Snake Devil Contract

The Snake Devil contract from the anime (used by the girl fighting Denji on top of the building). This devil is exclusive to Yakuza members.

Note: The requirements for Snake Devil are considered difficult to complete.

🧟

Zombie Devil Contract

The Zombie Devil contract is another exclusive option for Yakuza members. This devil offers unique abilities not available to Public Safety.

✓ Summary: These three options (Katana Hybrid, Snake Devil, Zombie Devil) are completely exclusive to the Yakuza faction and cannot be obtained by Public Safety members.

What You Lose by Joining Yakuza

Joining Yakuza is a trade-off. You gain exclusive content, but you also lose access to several important things from Public Safety:

❌ Cannot Enter Public Safety HQ

Once you join Yakuza, you cannot enter the Public Safety Headquarters building at all. The entrance will not work when you press E. This means you lose access to all NPCs, shops, and facilities inside HQ.

❌ No Access to Future Devil

You cannot obtain the Future Devil contract as a Yakuza member. If you want Future Devil on your build, you must stay in Public Safety.

❌ No Access to Cursed Devil

You cannot obtain the Cursed Devil contract as a Yakuza member. This is another contract exclusive to Public Safety.

❌ No Way to Leave Yakuza

Currently, there is NO way to leave the Yakuza faction and return to Public Safety. The only option is to wipe your entire character and start over.

⚠️ Make Your Choice Carefully: Before joining Yakuza, make sure you're okay with losing Future Devil, Cursed Devil, and HQ access. This decision is permanent!

How to Find the Yakuza Hideout

The Yakuza hideout is located in the outskirts area of the city. Follow these steps to find it:

1

Start a Mission to Outskirts

From Public Safety HQ, go to the mission board and start a Cleanup Duty mission in the Outskirts area. Choose any two options and start the mission.

💡 Tip: This is the easiest way to get to the outskirts area where the Yakuza hideout is located.

2

Use Your Skateboard

Press H to use your skateboard. This makes traveling 50 times easier and much faster.

Don't have a skateboard? Check our Skateboard Guide to learn how to buy one for 7.6k Yen.

3

Turn Left and Go Straight

From your starting position, turn left and go straight down the road. Keep going until you see buildings that look more run-down and you go under an underpass.

Visual Cue: When you start seeing older-looking buildings and go under the underpass, you know you're in the right area.

4

Look for the Building with Green Kanji

The Yakuza hideout is a discreet building (not very noticeable, as you'd expect from Yakuza). Look for a building with green kanji writing on top.

🎯 Found It: Once you see the building with green kanji, walk up to it and press E to enter.

Quest Requirements to Join Yakuza

Inside the Yakuza hideout, you'll find the Yakuza Leader NPC. Talk to them to receive the joining quest. You need to complete two requirements:

1

Kill 5 Public Safety Players

You must kill 5 players who are members of Public Safety. You CANNOT kill other Yakuza members - it must be Public Safety players.

✓ Easy Method - Kill Trainees:

The easiest way to complete this requirement is to hunt down trainees (low-level players). They're much easier to kill than high-level Public Safety members. Just go to areas where new players spawn and get your 5 kills quickly.

2

Accumulate 80,000 Yen

You must gather 80,000 yen (cash) for the Yakuza faction. This is a substantial amount of money.

💰 How to Farm Money:

  • • Complete missions and quests
  • • Defeat bosses and devils
  • • Hunt players and collect their drops
  • • Sell items at the Black Market

📊 Track Your Progress: The quest log will show your progress: 0/80,000 Yen and 0/5 Kills. Grind until both are complete!

Yakuza Hideout Features

Once you join Yakuza, the hideout becomes your new base. Here's what's available inside:

Main Room

The main area where you enter. Talk to the Yakuza leader here for quests and progression.

Upstairs Department (Back Door)

Go to the back of the hideout and look for a door. Press E to enter the upstairs room department.

Surgery Kits: Buy surgery kits here for reviving and harvesting

Crafting Table: Your own crafting station for making weapons

Different Rank System

The Yakuza has its own rank progression system separate from Public Safety. You'll climb through Yakuza ranks as you complete raids and quests.

✓ Fully Equipped: The Yakuza hideout is small but has everything you need - surgery kits, crafting table, and quest NPCs. It's a compact but functional base!

Should You Join Yakuza?

✓ Join Yakuza If:

  • • You want the Katana Hybrid form (Katana Man)
  • • You're interested in Snake Devil or Zombie Devil
  • • You don't care about Future Devil or Cursed Devil
  • • You want a unique criminal faction experience
  • • You're okay with permanent commitment (no going back)

✗ Stay in Public Safety If:

  • • You want Future Devil or Cursed Devil
  • • You want access to Public Safety HQ and its facilities
  • • You're not sure yet and want flexibility
  • • You prefer government-side progression
  • • You don't want to do PvP (killing 5 players is required)

💭 Our Recommendation: If you're a new player, we recommend staying in Public Safety first to experience the main story and progression. Join Yakuza on a second character or when you're absolutely sure you want the exclusive Yakuza content. Remember - this decision is permanent!
