Black Market Guide
The most important shop in Devil Hunter. Learn where to find it, what it sells, and how to use it for optimal progression.
What is the Black Market?
The Black Market is the most important shop in Devil Hunter, but it's hidden on purpose and never marked on your map. This underground shop is essential for:
📖 Story Progression
Required for quests like "Strings of Control" - you cannot progress without it
⚡ Build Fixes
Buy rare items to skip bad RNG and long grinds for materials
🔧 Essential Items
Body parts, devil flesh, reset tokens, and utility items
⚠️ Warning: If you don't know where the Black Market is, you can waste hours running around the city. Many players get stuck on story quests specifically because they can't find this location.
How to Find Black Market (Walking Route)
The Black Market is located just outside Public Safety Headquarters. Follow these steps exactly:
Exit Public Safety HQ
Start from Public Safety Headquarters and walk out through the main front gate.
Turn Left and Stay on Same Side
As soon as you exit the gate, turn left. Stay on the same side of the road - do NOT cross the street.
📍 Key Landmark: Keep moving forward until you see a large pedestrian bridge going over the road. This bridge is your main landmark.
Look for the Dark Alley
After passing under the pedestrian bridge, look to your left. You'll see a dark and narrow alley between buildings.
👀 Visual Cue: This alley is noticeably darker than the surrounding area. Walk into it.
Find the Half-Open Shutter
Inside the alley, look along the left wall. You'll see a half-open shutter door.
🎯 There He Is: The Black Market NPC stands right there in the shadows next to the shutter. Talk to him to access the shop!
💡 Speed Tip: Use your skateboard (press H) to get there faster. Walking takes much longer and wastes time you could spend farming.
Quick Access via Phone
The fastest way to reach the Black Market is through your phone menu:
Open Your Phone
Press N to open your phone interface.
Go to Black Market Tab
Navigate to the "Black Market" tab in your phone menu.
Teleport Instantly
The game will automatically teleport you directly to the Black Market NPC. No walking required!
✓ Best Method: This is the recommended way to access the Black Market. It's instant, safe, and you can't get lost.

What the Black Market Sells
The Black Market sells essential items for progression. The inventory rotates on a timer, so not everything is available at once.
Body Parts
Arms, Legs, Eyes, and Hearts - required for devil contracts and hybrid surgery.
Hearts: Essential for Snake and Fox devil contracts
Eyes: Needed for certain devils like Future Devil
Arms/Legs: Used for various contracts
Devil Flesh (All Rarities)
Devil flesh comes in different rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Mythic. Used for:
Humans: Craft weapons at Division 2 crafting table
Fiends: Eat to gain Fear for progression
🔄 Reset Items
Wipe Token: Completely wipes your character - use with caution!
Eraser Devil (300,000 Yen): Acts as a stat reset. Use this to reallocate your stats if you made mistakes.
🔫 Weapons
Sometimes the Black Market sells guns and other weapons.
⚠️ Priority Warning: Weapons should NOT be your first priority. If you still need contracts or reset items, buy those instead. Weapons can be crafted or obtained through other means.
Stock Rotation System
The Black Market uses a shipment timer system. When you talk to the NPC, you'll see a timer at the bottom of the shop interface.
How It Works
- •When the timer reaches zero, all items refresh with new stock
- •If the item you want isn't available, wait for the next rotation
- •The timer is approximately 15 minutes between rotations
- •Keep checking back until your desired item appears
Best Strategy
✓ Check regularly: Make it a habit to check the Black Market every 15 minutes between missions or while farming. The rotation brings different items, and you don't want to miss rare body parts or devil flesh you need.
Common Devil Flesh Trick
While you generally shouldn't buy Common Devil Flesh (you can farm it anywhere), the Black Market can be a quick shortcut if you need just a few more pieces for crafting and don't want to spam missions. It's a convenient "cheat code" for quick materials.
Common Mistakes
❌ Buying Common Devil Flesh
Don't waste your yen on Common Devil Flesh unless you're in a hurry. You can farm common flesh from any mission. Save your money for rare items like Uncommon+ flesh, body parts, or reset tokens.
❌ Prioritizing Weapons Over Essentials
Don't blow all your yen on weapons if you still need contracts or stat resets. Weapons are nice, but devil contracts and build fixes are more important for long-term progression.
❌ Not Checking the Shipment Timer
Always check the timer at the bottom of the shop. If you don't see what you need, note the time and come back after the refresh. Don't waste time camping there - go run missions or farm in the meantime.
❌ Going AFK Near the NPC (Public Servers)
The alley near the Black Market is often a PP (Player Points) hotspot in public servers. Buy what you need and leave immediately. Don't stand still or go AFK near the NPC unless you want to get attacked.
❌ Getting Lost Looking for It
If you can't find the Black Market by walking, just press N and use your phone. The teleport method is foolproof and saves time.
❌ Forgetting About Story Quests
Early in the game, you'll get a quest called "Strings of Control" that requires buying an item from the Black Market. If you can't find it, you're completely blocked from story progression.
Pro Tips
Use phone teleport: Always press N to teleport directly to the Black Market. It's instant and safer than walking through the city.
Time your visits: Check the Black Market every 15 minutes between missions. Make it part of your routine so you never miss rare items.
Save for hearts and rare flesh: These are the hardest items to farm. If you see them in the shop, buy them immediately - they're worth the yen.
Eraser Devil vs. Wipe Token: Eraser Devil (300k) resets your stats. Wipe Token completely restarts your character. Know which one you need before buying!
Private servers for shopping: If you're worried about getting PK'd while shopping, consider playing in a private server where you can take your time.
Skateboard to physical location: If you do walk to the Black Market, use your skateboard (press H) to get there much faster.
