Fiend Guide - Level Up Fear & Unlock Talents
Complete guide to playing as a Fiend in Devil Hunter. Learn how to level up Fear quickly, unlock Fiend talents with unique passives, and the most efficient farming methods.
What is Fear?
Fear is the primary progression stat for Fiend characters in Devil Hunter. As you level up your Fear, you unlock powerful Fiend abilities and talents that transform your gameplay experience.
Unlock Fiend Abilities
Leveling up Fear unlocks your entire Fiend skill tree, giving you access to unique abilities like Drop Kick and other powerful skills specific to your character type.
Strengthen Your Build
Higher Fear levels make your Fiend significantly stronger, improving your combat effectiveness in both PvE and PvP encounters.
How to Level Up Fear
There are several ways to gain Fear XP as a Fiend. Here are all the methods from worst to best:
Killing Devils
The most basic method - simply killing devils grants Fear XP. However, this is slow and inefficient compared to other methods.
Location: New players often farm in the Shopping District near the skateboard NPC, triggering contract doors repeatedly.
PvP Combat
Using your surgery kit on other players grants Fear XP. You'll know you're gaining XP when you see a red aura appear around your body.
Note: While viable, this requires constant PvP engagement and isn't as efficient as farming methods.
Eating Devil Flesh (BEST)
The absolute best way to level up Fear is by consuming Devil Flesh and other body parts. As a Fiend, you can eat these items directly from your inventory for massive Fear XP.
This is the fastest and most efficient method by far. Always prioritize eating Devil Flesh over other XP sources.
Farming Devil Flesh - Hold the Line Method
One of the best ways to get Devil Flesh and Ash is by running the "Hold the Line" mission:
Start Hold the Line Mission
Go to the mission board and select "Hold the Line" mission type, then choose any location you prefer.
Select Multipliers
Always select these two multipliers for bonus rewards:
- • At least 10,000 money bonus
- • Experience multiplier
Kill the Devil
Every Hold the Line mission has a guaranteed devil spawn. Kill it to receive a random Devil Flesh drop (uncommon is possible!).
Warning: Interception Risk
During these missions, other players can intercept and hunt you down. Be prepared for PvP encounters while farming.
Rewards: You'll get 20,000+ cash, loot bucks, and guaranteed Devil Flesh from the devil spawn. Use the cash to buy even more flesh at the Black Market!
Black Market Strategy
After farming cash from missions, the Black Market is your best friend for leveling Fear. Here's how to maximize it:
Step 1: Access Black Market
Press N in the overworld to open the map and navigate to the Black Market.
Step 2: Buy Devil Flesh
The Black Market sells different tiers of Devil Flesh. Stock availability varies based on player purchases:
Step 3: Buy What You Can Afford
Buy whatever you can afford - even Uncommon flesh adds up. Epic Devil Flesh gives the most XP but costs significantly more. Stock rotates, so check back regularly!
💰 Money-Making Tip: Combine this with "Stalk" missions (PvP). Kill players, collect their money drops, then spend it all on Devil Flesh at the Black Market. It's a fast cycle if you're good at PvP!
Raid Farming for Body Parts
Raids are an excellent source of body parts (arms, eyes, heart, legs) that can also be consumed for Fear XP. Even low-level players can participate!
Available Raids
- Zombie Devil Raid: Press N to locate it
- Katana Raid: Easy enemies, lots of drops
- Eternity Devil Raid: Higher difficulty but better rewards
Raid Rewards Example (8 minutes)
In just 8 minutes of Katana Raid, you can get:
- • 34 Arms
- • 35 Eyes
- • 38 Legs
- • 22 Hearts
Raid Cooldowns
Raids have a 1-3 hour cooldown, but you can rotate between different raids. With proper rotation, you can max out Fear in just 1-2 hours of farming!
While Waiting for Cooldowns: Do missions, PvP stalks, or farm loot boxes from intercepting players to get Epic Devil Flesh - the highest XP item!
Fiend Talents & Devil Parts
Fiend Talents (also known as Devil Passives) are special cosmetic and ability enhancements obtained by consuming specific Devil Parts. Each talent gives a unique appearance and passive bonus!
Talent Examples
There are around 11 different Fiend talents in the game. Here's an example:
Stone Chunk (Stone Skin)
- • Changes your skin to stone appearance
- • Grants 10% damage reduction to all damage types
- • Takes 3 talent slots to equip
How to Get Devil Parts
There are two ways to obtain Devil Parts for talents:
Method 1: Kill Same Devil (SLOW)
Use your smel skill on a devil and kill it 35 times. This takes a very long time and isn't recommended.
Method 2: Loot Boxes (BEST)
Open loot boxes for instant Devil Parts. This is much faster than grinding 35 kills. Get loot boxes from intercepting missions or events.
Talent Slot System
Each talent requires a certain number of talent slots to equip (shown as white dots on the talent).
- • You can equip multiple talents at once
- • Total slots used must not exceed your available slots
- • Stone Skin uses 3 slots - very expensive!
- • You need to unlock more slots to use multiple talents
Unlocking More Talent Slots
To equip more Fiend talents, you need to unlock additional talent slots. Here's how:
Talk to Violets
As a Fiend, you can interact with Violets (who is also a Fiend) to unlock more talent slots.
Dialogue Option: "I want to unlock more passive slot"
Complete the Quest
Violets will give you a quest to complete. The quests aren't too difficult, and you'll need to do several of them to unlock all your talent slots.
Configure Vanity
You can also talk to Violets to "Configure the vanity of your passive" - this lets you toggle the cosmetic appearance of your talents on or off.
Example: If you don't like the Stone Skin appearance, you can disable it visually while keeping the 10% damage reduction bonus!
💡 Pro Tip: Combine slot unlocks with efficient Devil Flesh farming from Hold the Line missions and Black Market purchases to maximize your Fiend progression speed!
