Complete contract rankings primarily for PvP (though PvP-good contracts are usually good in PvE too). Based on expert player analysis and gameplay testing.
S Tier - Best Contracts

Ghost Devil
Multiple combo extenders with versatile utility. Sacrificial ritual summons ghost when knocked.
Moves:
- Sacrificial Ritual (summon ghost when knocked)
- M1 Variant: Pick up and slam (combo extender)
- M2 Variant: Closer range, more damage (combo extender)
Pros:
- Multiple combo extenders
- Can hit from afar
- Versatile for both PvP and PvE
- M1 changes to scratch attack in PvE (usable from distance)
Cons:
- Obtainment can be tedious (10% chance, recently buffed)

Mantis
Free combo extender with large hitbox. Safe beginner pick.
Moves:
- Mantis Grab (combo extender)
Pros:
- Easy to hit with large hitbox
- Free combo after grab
- Good range and decent damage
- Can break walls for zombie raids
- Cooldown: 20-30 seconds
- Safe pick for beginners
Cons:
- Somewhat predictable

Snake
Most fun contract with high damage on all moves. Multiple variants for different situations.
Moves:
- Bite: High damage
- Mangle (M2 uppercut): 1 bar damage
- Tail Whip: 1.5 bars damage
- Signature: Eat devil and spin out to fight
Pros:
- Most fun contract in game
- All moves do really good damage
- Easy to hit, hard to parry
- Low stamina cost (especially with Snake clan)
- Multiple tools beyond summons
Cons:
- Summoned devils get weakened significantly (easy to kill)
- Enemies get HP pack from killing summons

Cursed Devil
Highest damage contract in game. Three crits trigger devastating cutscene.
Moves:
- Land 3 crits → Cutscene that does HALF target HP
Pros:
- Does most damage of all contracts
- Crit is not hard to land
- Devastating damage (~2 bars on max level)
- Game-changing in PvP
Cons:
- Unknown if it works on mobs/devils (confirmed for players only)
A Tier - Excellent Contracts

Leech
Quick slam with auto-grip mechanic. Excellent for ganking.
Moves:
- Quick slam move
Pros:
- Auto-grips knocked players (useful in 1v2s/ganking)
- Quick and decent damage
- Can break walls for zombie raids
Cons:
- NOT a guard break (would be S tier if it was)
- Does NOT heal (Fiend talent heals, not base Leech)

Fox
Easy to obtain with guard break on M2. Very good value.
Moves:
- M1 Variant: Quick slash, applies bleed
- M2 Variant: More damage, guard breaks
Pros:
- M2 guard break is very strong
- Can uppercut into M2 Fox (opponent cannot avoid)
- Breaks walls for zombie raids
- Easy to obtain
- Good damage
Cons:
- M1 does not guard break

Future Devil
Best counter in game with dodge chance passive. On verge of S tier.
Moves:
- Counter (best in game)
Pros:
- Best counter available
- Landing counter gives eye effect → chance to dodge next attack
- Powerful when mastered
Cons:
- Counters are difficult to hit (limited frames)
- Missing counter = getting comboed
- Players can bait it
- Hitboxes in game can be weird
- Counter mechanics in general are not great

Zombie
Excellent summons for PvE and solid for PvP ganking situations.
Moves:
- Regular zombie summon
- Tank zombie (explodes)
Pros:
- Summons are excellent in PvE content
- Decent for PvP ganks and applying pressure
- Multiple zombie variants for different situations
- Tank zombie explosion can catch enemies off-guard
Cons:
- Enemies receive health packs when killing summons
- HP pack mechanic limits PvP effectiveness
- 10% drop rate from Zombie Raid
- Contract drop currently has some bugs
B Tier - Good Contracts

Tomato Devil
Self-revive mechanic and combo extender. Rarely seen but solid.
Moves:
- M1 Variant: Combo starter/extender (NOT blockable, VERY slow)
- M2 Variant: Self-revive (plant seed)
Pros:
- M1 is not blockable
- Free combo on M1 hit
- Self-revive mechanic
Cons:
- M1 is very slow (hard to land)
- Seed can be destroyed by enemies (prevents revive)
- Respawn at seed with ~half HP
- Need to hide seed strategically

Bat
God-tier for PvE, mediocre for PvP.
Moves:
- Bat Roar
Pros:
- Can solo zombie raids
- Does a lot of damage if hit
- Recently buffed posture damage
Cons:
- Very long wind-up
- Completely blockable
- Not too crazy in PvP
C Tier - Below Average

Frog
Simple pull move with limited utility.
Moves:
- Pull move
Pros:
- Can pull enemy → guard break move → combo
- Some utility
Cons:
- Low damage
- Easily blockable
- Not worth a contract slot
- Better options available

Mold
Projectile with stun potential. Unproven in combat.
Moves:
- Projectile (aimable)
Pros:
- Can aim anywhere
- Applies Mold status (causes stun at threshold)
Cons:
- Not enough combat experience to rank higher
- Potentially useful but unproven
D Tier - Avoid

Stone Devil
Not released yet. Negative feedback from testing.
Moves:
- Stun
Cons:
- Not released yet
- Heard it was "ass" from testers
- No personal experience available

Shark/Fish
Worse than Frog. Do not get.
Moves:
- Summon fist from ground, lunges forward
Cons:
- Self-explanatory bad
- Worse than Frog
- Do not get Fish

Sea Cucumber
Great for PvE, terrible for PvP.
Moves:
- Projectile attack
Pros:
- Very good for PvE
- Can cheese zombie raids from afar
- Works with Dual Katana, Hotel
- Guard break
- Inflicts poison
Cons:
- Projectiles are very linear
- Below average for PvP
- Do not use for PvP
Ranking Philosophy
- Primarily PvP-focused (PvP-good usually means PvE-good too)
- Combo extenders are highly valued
- Guard breaks are important
- Ease of hitting moves matters
- Versatility (multiple uses/variants) increases rank
